Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) is a perennial with fluffy, cream-white, fragrant flower heads. The flowers are traditionally used for teas and valued for their beneficial properties. The plant prefers moist soils, waterside positions, and sunny or partly shaded exposure. The fragrant flowers attract pollinators and give off a sweet honey-and-almond scent. Meadowsweet is an elegant plant of damp meadows, appreciated ornamentally too.
