The flowers, in a range of colours — red, pink, yellow, white, orange — appear from spring to autumn. The plant prefers sun and fertile, well-drained soils, and is prized for bouquets. The flowers attract bumblebees, which pollinate them by forcing the petals open. The snapdragon is a much-loved decorative flower, suitable for beds and pots.
