Moss rose (Portulaca grandiflora) is a low succulent plant with bright, satiny flowers in shades of red, pink, yellow, orange and white. It is very resistant to drought and heat, flowering abundantly in sunny, dry positions. Its fleshy leaves store water, and the plant quickly covers the ground, ideal for rockeries and pots. The flowers open in the sun and attract bees. Moss rose is perfect for dry spots where other flowers do not survive.
