Callistemon splendens

Callistemon (bottlebrush) bears spectacular cylindrical red flower spikes that attract pollinators.

• Winter care: tolerates brief frosts to −7 °C, but roots are exposed in a pot — overwinter in a bright, cool place (5–10 °C)

• Watering: let the compost dry halfway between waterings; it will not tolerate standing water. Never leave water in the saucer.
